Today we visit many of the historical sites in and around Kathmandu, destinations that have managed to find a place in the UNESCO world’s heritage list. We begin with Swayambhunath climbing its stairs which are said to encompass the 13 paths to reach enlightenment. The Hindu heritage of Pashupatinath is next on our list resonating in the prayers of thousands who visit the temple each day. We head towards Kathmandu Durbar Square to witness a historical journey encompassing generations of Nepalese Kings before ending our journey at Boudhanath well known for its sunset views. Your adventure begins with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a scenic mountain airstrip that serves as the gateway to the Everest region. The flight offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas before landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. From Lukla, you'll embark on a trek to Phakding, a charming village nestled alongside the Dudh Koshi River. The trail winds through lush forests of rhododendron and pine, with stunning views of snow-capped peaks in the distance.

Today's trek takes you to Namche Bazaar, the bustling commercial hub of the Khumbu region and the gateway to Everest. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. As you ascend, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The trek continues to Gokyo, a picturesque village situated on the shores of the pristine Gokyo Lakes. The trail climbs steeply out of Machhermo, passing through rocky terrain and glacial moraines. As you approach Gokyo, the landscape opens up to reveal the stunning turquoise waters of the lakes and the towering peaks of Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang. Today is a rest day in Gokyo, allowing time for exploration and acclimatization. You can spend the day hiking around the Gokyo Lakes, soaking in the breathtaking scenery and observing the local wildlife. For those seeking a challenge, an early morning ascent of Gokyo Ri offers unparalleled panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Today is the most challenging day of the trek as you ascend to the high mountain pass of Renjo La. The trail climbs steeply through rocky terrain, with breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu. As you reach the top of the pass, you'll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The descent from Renjo La is equally spectacular, with views of the pristine Thame Valley below. You'll spend the night in Marlung, a small village nestled in the heart of the Himalayas.

The trek continues to Thame, a traditional Sherpa village renowned for its cultural heritage and stunning mountain vistas. The trail follows the Bhote Koshi River, passing through scenic forests and terraced fields. Along the way, you'll encounter ancient monasteries and chortens, providing insight into the rich spiritual traditions of the Sherpa people.

Today's trek retraces your steps back to Namche Bazaar, allowing time to rest and reflect on your journey through the Himalayas. Today, you'll bid farewell to the mountains as you board a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. The flight offers one last opportunity to take in the breathtaking views of the Himalayas before returning to the bustling city below. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you'll have the chance to explore the vibrant streets, historic landmarks, and cultural treasures of Nepal's capital city.
